The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors—InterNACHI—is the world's largest nonprofit association of residential and commercial property inspectors, providing education, training, certification, benefits and support for its members. InterNACHI-Certified Professional Inspectors® follow a comprehensive Standards of Practice, abide by a strict Code of Ethics, and take accredited Continuing Education courses each year, including InterNACHI’s Online Inspector Examination.




























A repair verification is an independent inspection to inspect a construction project, remodel, renovation or a follow up re-inspection performed after required or recommended repairs have been completed by one or more parties on behalf of the client.​

Repair verification inspections are limited to the area or areas which were repaired or are being re-inspected. These may include one or more systems and/or components of the home, outlined in the scope of work to be performed by the inspector.

Identify and describe specific details of building that may cause moisture-related problems;

Inspect for indications of moisture intrusion;

Communicate how to prevent moisture intrusion by proper installation of systems and components;

Understand how energy, moisture, water, and vapor moves through a building;

Recognize evidence of structural damage and previous repair; and
-
Communicate to clients indications of moisture intrusion.

Identify damage caused by moisture (damp insulation, condensation, warped materials)

Inspect for mold and mildew (this can be identified on walls, stored items, as well as by smell)

Inspect for plumbing issues (including waste and supply lines)

Inspect for electrical issues and wiring

Inspect for foundation issues (cracks, settling, shifting)

Inspect for floor damage (including the framing and supports)

Inspect for pests, vermin, and other animals
-
Inspect for Adequate and clear ventilation
-
Inspect for vapor and water barriers

Inspect for sill plates
-
Identify amateur repairs
